Traditional Skills Workshops

VCLA hosts a variety of traditional skills upgrading opportunities for adults interested in First Nations culture.

Learners have made moccasins, dream catchers, woven baskets, as well as medicine pouches. Workshops also support elders to share and teach their Mi`kmaq language and traditional craft skills to the younger generations, and each other.

These classes have been held at a variety of locations in the Valley, including at the Annapolis Valley FIrst Nation (AVFN) Learning Centre, 64 Goo-ow Lane, Cambridge, as well as VCLA's head office in Kentville at 49 Cornwallis Street.
