Reading Horizons is a self-directed internet-based learning program to assist struggling readers. VCLA learners use this program at home (if they have internet) or at one of our two main locations in the Valley. Learners Permit Practice Test is an interactive test consists of 20 multiple choice questions and 20 road sign recognition questions to help learners prepare to write their drivers test (for driving 5 vehicles - cars, pickups, etc.). Your answer will be evaluated after each response and a final score will be shown at the end of the test.

Literacy Resources- Various resources available on the website of the ANSCLO - Association of Nova Scotia Community Learning Organizations. Resources such as the Canadian Council on Learning's Prose Literacy Map, the provincial Community Counts webpage, and a Poverty Backgrounder, can be useful for presentations to community groups.

Air Brake Exam Practice Tests - The Air Brake Endorsement permits the holder to drive vehicles equipped with air brakes in the class of vehicle for which the driver is licensed. The Complete School of Truck Transportation offers a series of practice tests that you can take to help prepare to write the Air Brake Test. 

The Air Brake Manual has been prepared by Nova Scotia Department of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations to assist drivers in understanding the basic operation and function of an air brake system. The study of this manual, together with practical instruction, is recommended for a driver who is preparing for the air brake examination.
